Last December Toge Productions gave us a fantastic Christmas present by putting Infectonator: Survivors Christmas up on their site completely free to play. However, this Christmas version was only a demo of the full Infectionator: Survivors game that is now on Steam Greenlight and is looking for a Spring release.
This permadeath survival game is a creative combination of real-time strategy, tower defense, and management simulation gameplay. You will control four characters who are trying to make their way out of a zombie infested city. Each character will have their own advantages and disadvantages that will help you to search for items, build up defenses, or simply take down the walking dead.
What makes this game so enjoyable is its quick gameplay that is easy to pick up. The game is not especially story driven, and is perfect for some casual gaming. The characters that you control are all randomly selected at the start of each game and once they die they won’t be coming back. This style of gameplay makes it easy for anyone to pick up and enjoy Infectonator: Survivors.
Infectonator: Survivors will be released on Steam sometime this spring, and although the price has yet to be settled on, CEO of Toge Productions Kris Antoni believes that the game should cost around $9.99. Antoni explained the price, saying “as an indie developer we prefer putting a value in our games instead of going free.”
This is the type of developer I can get behind. If you are interested in trying the game out for yourself head on over to Armor Games to play through the demo. Infectonator: Survivors will be Toge Production’s first game to be Greenlit for Steam, and it looks like it’s going to be a doozy.
