Malaysian car bidding platform names former BMW exec as CEO

Malaysian car bidding platform myTukar has appointed former BMW executive Jeffrey Ong as its new CEO.

Experience:

  • Before taking on the new designation, Ong served as myTukar’s head of sales and marketing and as chief operating officer.
  • Ong had also spent six years at BMW, designing the blueprints for the company’s financial products across the Asia-Pacific region. He launched several programs such as the BMW Group Corporate Mobility Solutions and the BMW Group Private Circle Program, among others.

More details:

  • Along with the announcement of its new CEO, myTukar also said it is on track to hit a revenue of 4.2 billion ringgit (US$994.4 million) per year from its Malaysia operations.
  • Ong succeeds the company’s former CEO, Fong Hon Sum, who assumed the role of myTukar chairman in June 2021.

Currency converted from US dollar to Malaysian ringgit: US$1 = 4.22 ringgit.
