Singapore-based renewable energy major Sunseap said it has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Japanese investors for its expansion into the country.

- Sunseap will use the new funds to invest in projects in Japan to help the country with its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
- The startup said its partnerships with the three Japanese firms would help it introduce a slate of clean technology and business solutions to the local market.
- Sunseap Group is a solar energy system operator in Singapore that has undertaken over 400 megawatt-peak of solar energy projects.
- It previously raised S$100 million (about US$75 million) in its series D4 round from Thai energy company Banpu.
- Last month, it was reported that the company was eyeing to go public in Singapore to raise as much as US$445 million.
