Alpha JWC leads $13m round in Indonesian cloud kitchen startup Hangry
Hangry, an Indonesian culinary startup with a cloud kitchen and multibrand concept, said it has secured US$13 million in funding as it gears up for national expansion.

- Hangry said it plans to invest the new capital into its national expansion efforts for this year and the next, aiming to have 120 outlets in total and launch dine-in restaurants across Indonesia in 2021.
- In 2020, the company opened more than 35 outlets throughout the archipelago, according to Salt Ventures managing partner Danny Sutradewa.
- Hangry received its first institutional funding – worth US$3 million – from Alpha JWC Ventures and Sequoia Capital through the Surge accelerator last year.
- Co-founded by Taralite founder Abraham Viktor, Hangry currently runs five brands: Moon Chicken, San Gyu, Bude Sari, Ayam Koplo, and Kopi Dari Pada.
