Fashion size-and-fit app Pixibo scores follow-on funding
Pixibo, a Singapore-based startup that has developed a virtual size-and-fit app for fashion ecommerce sites, has scored a fresh injection of capital following its August 2018 series A round.
The undisclosed amount of follow-on funding came from Indonesian firms EverHaus and Prasetia Dwidharma, with several angel investors – including Jonathan Price, a senior advisor to US private equity giant TPG Capital – also participating.

They join Pixibo’s existing investors such as Start Today Ventures and Nuri Group as well as a host of angels including former Google, Lazada, Tesco, and Twitter executives.
Pixibo indicated that the new investment will partly go towards new product offerings.
The startup’s first product is Pi, a white-label app that fashion e-tailers can integrate into their websites. Pi uses a trove of data from different manufacturers and retailers to help online shoppers find which garment sizes are the best fit for them, regardless of brand. Ecommerce sites have typically relied on size charts, which are often inaccurate, differ between brands and retailers, and therefore result in higher purchase return rates.
Co-founder and CEO Rohit Kumar told Tech in Asia that size-and-fit advisors like Pi are “fast becoming table stakes, and in a year’s time we predict the size chart will be redundant.”
“Retailers have realized that helping their shoppers find the right size is their problem and not the shoppers’,” he added. “If you don’t solve for size, the shopper votes with her feet and bounces – or worse, buys the wrong size, which bleeds your bottom line. Many online retailers previously viewed this as a cost of doing business online, and that has changed.”

Pixibo has also developed Personal Shopper, a discovery app that trawls online fashion inventories to suggest items based on a customer’s physical attributes, stated preferences, and previous purchases.
The startup also announced that it has partnered with Indonesian sportswear retailer MAP Active to launch a new footwear recommendation platform. “Footwear represents a significant addition to our coverage and is a category where the size problem is even more amplified,” said Kumar.
He continued, “We are removing the guesswork out of sizing as shoppers navigate and discover new brands. This launch gives us 100 percent category coverage in fashion ecommerce across apparel, intimates, and footwear.”
Pixibo’s apps are also used by ecommerce companies such as Thailand’s Pomelo Fashion, Hong Kong’s Grana, and Sri Lanka’s Amante.
