Popular Indonesia e-commerce site, Tokobagus.com recently launched a dedicated BlackBerry application for users to facilitate their online shopping transactions even when they are on the move.
Tokobagus is an e-commerce site where anyone can buy and sell new or used goods at competitive prices. This site is well known in Indonesia, promoted by extensive advertising on television and on traditional billboards and signs in the streets. It is ranked as the 22nd most visited site in Indonesia, according to Alexa.
Tokobagus’ BlackBerry app is made to address customers’ online shopping needs, and is particularly important given the rising popularity of the mobile internet in Indonesia.
The Tokobagus Blackberry app provides an interesting interface and a range of useful features. Customers can browse updated product offerings on Tokobagus, bookmark them, and contact the merchants directly if they are interested. For merchants, app also allows them to register, advertise, and manage their pro activation on Tokobagus. Perhaps the lack of this feature is the ability to purchase products directly. Hopefully that would be the next step for Tokobagus.
On the Blackberry platform, Tokobagus can tap into RIM’s huge customer base in Indonesia. It’s a good step towards mobile commerce, but I wonder what took Tokobagus so long to make this move.
