Indian sports platform banks $50m from parent firm Dream Sports
India’s FanCode, a digital platform for sports-related media, has raised US$50 million to bankroll its growth efforts and scale its services.

- FanCode said it will expand its team to house engineering and product development talent across various roles and leadership positions.
- In addition to making new hires, the company will look for more partnership with sports brands, said FanCode co-founder Prasana Krishnan. It has worked with famous organizations such as the NFL, MLB, NBA, and Cricket West Indies.
- Since its establishment in 2019, FanCode said it has onboarded more than 20 million users. It aims to bump that number up to 100 million by July 2022, co-founder Yannick Colaco said.
- The investment comes after Dream Sports raised US$400 million earlier this year in a round led by early Netflix investor TCV, among others.
