While ecommerce platforms in India draw in a vast number of visitors to browse their online offerings, around 98% of these users do not actually buy products, said Bheshaj Joshi, co-founder and CTO of Swirl.
This is what he, along with founder and CEO Kaizad Hansotia, looks to solve by introducing AI-powered short videos and livestreams. Through its services, Swirl said it aims for a 10x improvement in user experience and quantifiable sales uplift.
The startup uses AI to personalize video content, extract insights, and power a chatbot within videos. Its language models can provide real-time assistance, product recommendations, and bundle offers, the company said.
Recently, it has secured US$1.1 million in seed funding. Shastra VC led this funding round, with participation from several angel investors.
Swirl plans to use the funds to expand its presence in the US and the Middle East by opening offices in both regions. It also looks to bolster its product and sales teams, among other growth initiatives.
The startup was founded in 2021 in India and has since built up a client base that includes names like Puma, Vivo, and TVS Motor.
