Uniphore, an AI-driven speech recognition firm based in India, has raised US$140 million in its latest round of funding.

  • The fresh funds will be used to develop the company’s technology in artificial intelligence, automation, and machine learning across the enterprise.
  • Uniphore also announced the appointment of a new board director: Rob Rueckert, managing partner at Sorenson Capital Partners.
  • The latest funding round is the speech recognition firm’s largest so far, bringing the total funds invested in Uniphore to $210 million.
  • After its acquisition of Emotion Research Labs earlier this year, Uniphore plans to focus on video-based AI applications as well as applications in the security and robotic process automation markets.
  • In 2019, the Chennai-based company opened a new headquarters in Palo Alto, California.
