Report: Grab teams up with UniPin, Yummy Corp in Indonesia
“Southeast Asia super app Grab has entered into two separate partnerships in Indonesia as part of its plans to expand its offerings in the payments and F&B sectors,” reported DealStreetAsia.
Details:
- The ride-hailing giant has teamed up with UniPin, a payments platform for gamers, allowing users to buy game vouchers that cost between 10,000 and 500,000 Indonesian rupiah (US$0.72 to US$35.9) through Grab.
- Grab also previously partnered with SoftBank-backed cloud kitchen firm Yummy Corp in a bid to expand its food and beverage offerings within Indonesia.
Context:
- The move comes after Grab’s fintech arm raised over US$300 million in a series A fundraising led by South Korea’s Hanwha Asset Management.
- Earlier in January, Grab also reportedly selected Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase & Co. to work on its financial debut, which could happen as soon as the second half of this year.
