Corporate research startup based in US and India banks $20m in fresh funding

“Financial and corporate research platform Sentieo on Tuesday said that it has raised US$20 million as a part of its series B funding round led by Ten Coves Capital,” LiveMint reported.

Details:

  • Existing investors including Centana Growth Partners and Studio Management also participated in the round, bringing the total capital raised by the firm to US$62 million.
  • The fresh funds will be used to expand the capabilities of Sentieo’s platform and develop its research and development operations in India. The company also expects to double its presence in the country in the coming years.

Context:

  • In October 2018, Sentieo raised US$19 million in its series A round, which was led by growth equity firm Centana Growth Partners, to fund its global expansion and product development efforts.
  • Sentieo offers insights through its corporate research platform for executives, investment analysts, and researchers. It currently employs 175 staff members, with about 120 of them based in India.
