A police department in India has come up with a blockchain-led web portal where complaints, once registered, cannot be manipulated.

Powered by Web3 infrastructure Polygon Technology, the platform allows for online lodging of grievances. The feature is being piloted by a police department in a district of Uttar Pradesh, one of the largest states in India.
Grievances can be registered at any place and will land in the concerned stations to which they prevail.
“This could be a game-changer in ensuring right to justice,” wrote Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon Technology, in a tweet.
While the project is still in its initial phase, the question of data privacy arises. How the privacy of the user is handled, given that all data is on the blockchain, is not clear. There is also no clarity on whether file uploads are decentralized as well.
