Funding round-up from India: HackerRank, MySmartPrice, Wow Express, BoxMySpace, Zenify

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.
Here’s today’s funding round-up:
HackerRank
HackerRank, an online recruitment platform, raised US$7.5 million from Japanese firm Recruit Holdings. It is used by companies to hire tech professionals and by programmers to improve their skills. The startup was founded in 2012 by Vivek Ravisankar and Harishankaran Karunanidhi.
MySmartPrice
MySmartPrice , a Hyderabad-based price comparison and product discovery platform raised US$10 million from Accel Partners and Helion Ventures. The firm was co-founded by Sulakshan Kumar and Sitakanta Ray in 2010.
Wow Express
Wow Express, a technology enabled logistics service, raised US$500,000 from Tamarind Family Private Trust, owned by Onida co-promoters, Mansukhanis. The trust now has a 30 percent stake in the startup. Wow Express was launched in January this year by Sandeep Padoshi, Jayesh Kamat and Mazhar Faruqi.
BoxMySpace
BoxMySpace, an on-demand storage provider to declutter home and office spaces, raised INR 19.2 million (US$300,000) from Farooq Oomerbhoy, co-founder of Orios Venture Partners, and Singapore Angel Investors. BoxMySpace was founded by Pratyush Jalan in January this year.
Zenify
Atul Jalan, CEO of IT Analytics at Manthan Systems, invested in Zenify in his personal capacity. The amount remains undisclosed. Zenify is an online real estate portal that lists properties for rent and manages the lifecycle of rental agreements. It was founded by Sudarshan Purohit, Ankur Agarwal and Kailash Rathi in 2012.
