
Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.
Here’s today’s funding round-up:
Roadrunnr
Roadrunnr, an online B2B platform and service provider for businesses, has raised US$11 million from Sequoia Capital, as well as existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures. With this investment, Roadrunnr will bolster its technology platform, expand nationally, and increase its fleet of on-demand hyperlocal delivery carriers. The startup was founded by Mohit Kumar and Arpit Dave.
Mobikon
Mobikon, a marketing and customer engagement platform for restaurants has raised US$2.3 million funding from Singapore-based Jungle Ventures. With this funding, the startup plans to aggressively expand in India and Southeast Asia. It previously raised US$1.7 million from Jungle Ventures and Spring Singapore. Mobikon was founded by Samir Khadepaun and Salil Khamkar.
Ketto
Mumbai-based crowd-funding platform Ketto has raised US$700,000 from Calcutta Angels co-founder Pradyumma Dalmia and IndusAge Partners co-founder Sudhir Rao (who is also deal champion at Chennai Angels).This investment will be used to strengthen Ketto’s technology and business development team, in order to acheive its goal of facilitating US$100 million of funding for other firms. Ketto was founded in October 2012 by Varun Sheth, Kunal Kapoor, and Zaheer Adenwala.
