Taiwan airline taps Temasek-founded Affinidi to verify passenger Covid-19 test results

“Taiwan airline EVA Air announced March 29 that it will be collaborating with Singapore-based technology company Affinidi to utilise its digital credential verification solution to verify passengers’ Polymerase Chain Reaction test results,” Vulcan Post reported.

Details:

  • The airline will use Affinidi’s services for Singapore to Taipei flights and is looking to extend the feature to flights from Malaysia and Indonesia to Taipei.
  • EVA expects the solution to eliminate human errors in interpreting test results, helping to curb the further spread of Covid-19.

Context:

  • Earlier this year, Affinidi also started a trial with Singapore Airlines, where travelers from Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur are given digital health certificates if they take Covid-19 tests in select clinics.
  • Affinidi is also working with government agencies and partners from the private sector on trials for the technology.
