Pivotal Singapore, the Singapore office of Pivotal Labs San Francisco, has been purchased by Joi Ito’s Digital Garage, a Japanese incubation and investment company, reported GigaOM.
Pivotal Labs is a consultancy firm that brings technical teams into its space to grow, train, and help build their products. The company does not invest in the startups. Rather, startups pay Pivotal for their services.
The company has developed Pivotal Tracker, a free agile development tool with hundreds of thousands of users.
Joi Ito is also a general partner at Neoteny Labs, a startup incubator in Singapore under the Technology Innovation Scheme.
Since September 2011, he was appointed the director of the MIT Media Lab, a research organization focusing on the convergence of design, media, and technology.
