In brief: Impossible Foods’ meatless meat lands in Singapore
Impossible Foods is launching its plant-based meat on March 7, with a variety of dishes available at eight restaurants throughout Singapore – one of the world’s most vibrant and discerning culinary hotspots.
On March 6, from 6 pm to 10 pm, Impossible Foods will host the first public preview of its plant-based meat for the first 500 people who come to the world-famous Lau Pa Sat market. Dishes will be served at Lai Heng Fried Kway Teow and Sunny Viet Vietnamese Cuisine.
In addition, My Coffee Shop, a restaurant within Lau Pa Sat, will be transformed into an Impossible pop-up for one evening only, featuring the Impossible Burger by chef Andrei Soen of Park Bench Deli and the Impossible Crispy Pancake with Chinese Chives by chef Ricky Leung of Empress.

From March 7, the US startup’s plant-based meat substitute will be on the menus of eight Singapore restaurants: Adrift by David Myers, Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, Cut by Wolfgang Puck, Empress, Park Bench Deli, Potato Head, Prive Orchard, and Three Buns Quayside.
The Lion City has produced at least one “meatless meat” startup of its own – Shiok Meats, which develops meat and seafood substitutes grown from cell cultures.
Hong Kong became the first location outside the US to serve up Impossible Foods’ products, which are said to “taste and bleed” like real meat, in April last year.
