In brief: Hillhouse, Temasek may lose big as Chinese proptech startup collapses
- Blue-chip investors Hillhouse Capital, Temasek Holdings, and Shunwei Capital may lose hundreds of millions of dollars as a Chinese proptech startup appears to have gone into liquidation.
- Ai Wu Ji Wu (Iwjw) completed a US$150 million series E round led by Temasek and Hillhouse Capital in November 2015, following a US$120 million series D raise from GGV Capital, Morningside Ventures, Shunwei Capital, and Banyan Capital in May 2015.
- Iwjw’s official website now displays information about a new apartment rental platform. Some reports claimed that the company’s registered office does not exist, and that the new apartment rental app also appears to be emptying its office.
