KarirLab banks fresh capital to help link Indonesia’s new grads to employers

KarirLab, an Indonesia-based career platform for university students and new graduates, has raised an undisclosed amount in its pre-seed round led by Alpha JWC Ventures and M Venture Partners.

Founded in 2022 by Tessa Saraswati, Stephanus Wicardo, and William Surya Wijaya, the company offers services such as a resume builder and reviewer, a job vacancy portal, career development classes, and talent management.

In the first half of this year, its platform has posted thousands of vacancies from hundreds of Indonesian companies, and it has been accessed by “hundreds of thousands” of users, KarirLab said in a statement.

Statistics Indonesia data showed that as of February 2022, 14% of the unemployed population in Indonesia were college graduates.

The company will use the fresh funds to expand its team, accelerate product development and enhancement, and establish strategic partnerships with universities and employers.

It is also looking at integrating AI into the platform for greater personalization, the firm said.

Collaborating with universities, KarirLab has hosted several live and virtual career events such as KarirFest by KarirLab and UI Career, Internship, Scholarship, and Entrepreneurship Hybrid Expo 2023 – which were attended by over 20,000 students combined.
