IoT startup Brazn bags $3.65m in seed funding from VC firm Tin Men

The Singapore-based startup said it plans to use part of the investment to further develop Buildos, its secure facilities solution, and Retailr, its smart retail solution.

Part of the funding will also cover Brazn’s next round, when the company plans to launch its agriculture solution, Agrios, in earnest.

Founded in July 2016 by Adrian Lee, technologist Ong Su Hui, and user-experience specialist Ariff Razak, Brazn focuses on using open-source IoT to address business problems.

The startup rolled out its core platform in 2017 and released Buildos, Retailr, and Agrios in 2018. Brazn said that it launched multiple successful pilots in Malaysia and Thailand within a year of launching its three solutions.

Tin Men, which is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, was already working with Brazn prior to the deal, according to a statement. The VC firm had advised and connected Brazn to some of its customers before eventually deciding to invest in the startup.
