The new head exec currently holds directorship positions at the Australian Stock Exchange-listed Weststar Industrial Limited and ISDN Investments, the investment and trading arm of Singapore Exchange-listed ISDN Holdings Limited.

Ong will be taking over for Brian Koo, interim CEO of the Singapore-based company and the chairman of its board, according to a statement. Koo assumed the role from Joel Sng, who resigned from the company in May.

Honestbee also announced the resignation of its co-founder and chief technology officer Jonathan Low on July 11.

Since co-founding the company in July 2015, Low has led the engineering team in both Singapore and Taiwan, supporting the development of Honestbee’s products.

Low said in a statement that his decision to exit “was made before Lay Ann had come on board.”
