Hearthstone hits #1 on App Stores across Asia

Well, that didnโ€™t take very long. The Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft iPad app was just released globally yesterday, and itโ€™s already topping the charts all across Asia. In fact, as of this writing, Hearthstone is the #1 overall free iPad app in China, Singapore, and South Korea, and itโ€™s quickly climbing the charts in Malaysia (#5 as of this writing), Japan (#13 as of this writing) and Indonesia (#34 as of this writing).

Interestingly, though, it hasnโ€™t yet made much of a splash in India, where the game has barely broken into the top 200 overall free apps. In time, though, I expect weโ€™ll see it climb the ladder there, too.

Itโ€™s clear that Blizzardโ€˜s card-battle masterpiece has the chops to make it on mobile, and given that mobile games and Blizzard games are both hugely popular in India, a mobile Blizzard game certainly has a shot at breaking all kinds of industry records here. Hearthstone had a very good first day in Asia, and the way the charts are looking, the game doesnโ€™t plan on climbing down from its perch anytime soon.
