And by the way, if you haven’t applied to get your Bootstrap Alley booth yet, today is your final chance. Do it now!

Speakers

The pioneers. The risk takers. The underdogs. However you want to describe them, you can rest assured they are all game changers in this industry and more than ready to share some words of wisdom.

We’re bringing together some of the most renowned names from the tech world, and you can pick their brains all in one place – the main stage at Tech in Asia Tokyo.

EDIT: The below session has been replaced with a fireside chat with Koichiro Yoshida, founder of market leader Crowdworks, and one of the most popular and charismatic entrepreneurs in Japan.

Boots on the Ground: Why I Moved to China to Grow My Unicorn
Holly Liu

We are thrilled to announce that Holly Liu, co-founder of rare gaming unicorn Kabam, will be joining our stellar lineup of speakers to kickstart Day 1.

Kabam is a gaming company first started on the Facebook platform. Today, it generates US$400 million in yearly revenue. A startup unicorn following an investment worth $120 million from Alibaba last year, Kabam has no plans to slow down anytime soon. Right now, the startup is kickstarting its most significant growth initiative to date: expanding its presence to China. Join us in this session as Holly Liu opens up on Kabam’s early pitfalls and what lies ahead for them in China.

Back from the Brink
Tomoko Namba

Tomoko Namba, Japanese entrepreneur and founder of DeNA is a superstar in her own right, having clawed back from the jaws of failure. Parting ways with her stable career as partner at McKinsey & Co, Tomoko struggled with a precarious startup before successfully turning it around to be the multi-billion dollar global brand we know today as DeNA. And she’s ready to show how it’s done.

In this unique session, Tomoko will provide live, on-stage mentoring to two young entrepreneurs who have lost their companies, and share on how to bounce back stronger. There’ll be some valuable lessons to learn from this for sure.
