Virtual asset firm HashKey Exchange and blockchain gaming platform Animoca Brands have partnered to pursue opportunities and developments in the Web3 industry.
Animoca will open an account on HashKey Exchange as part of the collaboration. The two Hong Kong-based firms will also explore ways to use Web3 tech such as smart contracts and zero-knowledge proofs in the digital entertainment sector.
“Partnering with HashKey Exchange aligns with our mission to make blockchain technology and true digital ownership more accessible to a global audience,” said Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands.
HashKey Exchange is part of HashKey Group, which offers Web3-related financial services. The group recently raised US$100 million at a reported pre-money valuation of US$1.2 billion.
Meanwhile, Animoca Brands develops and publishes blockchain-based games and other forms of media. It’s also an investor in crypto companies such as OpenSea, Yield Guild Games, and Sky Mavis.
In July 2023, both Animoca and HashKey backed the pre-series A round of Aethir, a Singapore-based decentralized cloud infrastructure firm.
