In brief: Grab to invest ‘several hundred million dollars’ in Vietnam
- Grab is set to invest “several hundred million dollars” in Vietnam, where the company sees its next major growth market, just weeks after it unveiled a US$2 billion plan in Indonesia, Reuters reported.
- Grab president Ming Maa said that Vietnam has very similar characteristics to Indonesia, with many middle-class and young consumers using apps and websites for services.
- Vietnam ranks third or fourth among Grab’s top markets, according to Maa, who joined the company three years ago from Grab’s major investor, SoftBank.
