Shopee taps on Agoda, Booking for hospitality offering
“Shopee is moving into the hospitality scene by partnering with global digital platforms Agoda and Booking.com to launch Shopee Hotel,” Marketing Interactive reported.
Details:
- The partnership would allow Sea Group’s ecommerce major to access the two travel platforms’ hotel and resort accommodations through its own app.
- Shopee Hotel is expected to launch in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Dive deeper:
- The move comes as domestic bookings in the markets that Shopee is eyeing – save for Taiwan – have increased by over 57% now compared to May of this year, Shopee said citing Agoda search data.
- More than just increasing its shopping categories, Shopee has also been expanding its geographical reach. It recently launched a domain in France registered to Sea Group’s Singapore headquarters.
