Called the Ratu Nusa Fund, the new venture will focus on firms operating in the healthtech, ecommerce, social commerce, education, proptech, and fintech verticals.

The new fund will also invest in companies that improve the livelihoods of women and girls across Indonesia as well as underserved companies from tertiary cities, among others.

“Women entrepreneurs have long gotten a small slice of the VC funding pie mainly due to entrenched gender biases, leaving untapped potential from half of the world’s population. The Ratu Nusa Fund was designed to address this gap,” said Gobi Partners co-founder Thomas Tsao.

Founded in 2002, Gobi Partners has raised 15 funds to date and invested in over 310 startups, which include nine unicorns. Currently, the VC firm has US$1.5 billion in assets under management.

Meanwhile, Ozora founding partner Margaret Srijaya has held leadership roles at BPP HIPMI Indonesia, Junior Chamber International East Java, and Chamber of Commerce Surabaya.
