NUS Enterprise, the entrepreneurial arm of the National University of Singapore, has partnered with Vietnamese group Becamex IDC to extend Block71 to Vietnam.

Becamex is a leading industrial infrastructure developer in Vietnam, which has access to seven business parks and over 900 corporate partners in the transportation, logistics, telecommunications, and healthcare sectors, among others.
With the initiative, Singapore startups can gain easier market access, while Vietnamese startups can use NUS Enterprise’s entrepreneurial hubs in the US, Indonesia, China, and Singapore.
The collaboration will also facilitate education exchange, connectivity, and access to programs between the two countries as well as other countries in the region. Startups may also more easily pilot and test business ideas and technologies as well as participate in business competitions, validation programs, and conferences.
In addition to a startup community, entrepreneurs can also access education programs in technology and entrepreneurship at NUS.
According to the statement, Vietnam is the third most active startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia, with a reported sixfold increase in capital investments during the last two years. Block71’s expansion into the country will allow it to capitalize on and further spur this growth.
Vietnam is Block71’s eighth location to date. It is currently present in Singapore, San Francisco in the US, Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta in Indonesia, and two locations in Suzhou, China.
