Fashionspace gets extra 6-figure investment from Crystal Horse and private investor
FashionSpace, a Singapore-based social publishing platform for fashion, has received a six-figure investor from existing backer Crystal Horse Investments (CHI) and a private investor, it announced on 31st May in a press release.
This round is on top of the S$250k (US$200k) seed funding it received from CHI in August last year.
The latest round coincides with the startup’s first anniversary. It was launched in May last year in conjunction with Audi Fashion Week.
“We’ve come this far on organic traffic alone. Now, we are at the point where we’re ready to make a more concerted marketing effort to further build our userbase in Asia and around the world,” said fashionSpace CEO Danielle Siauw.
The website enables users to discover emerging designers and fashion trends, create lookbooks and monetize it with a Fashion Affiliate Program. This means that publishers get a cut of the transaction whenever users purchase an item after being redirected from FashionSpace to a merchant site.
The startup has hosted hundreds of thousands of fashion products, which includes brands like Prada, Gucci, and Lanvin. It plans to roll out the affiliate program to regional merchants in the coming months.
CHI is an angel investment firm based in Singapore that funds companies in Southeast Asia. Some of the companies in its portfolio include: Dropmyemail, Gamemaki, Frenzoo, iBilik, Tradesparq, and LobangClub.
It is also the fund manager for Angel’s Gate, a Singapore-based reality TV show about entrepreneurship.
