Capcom Cup Asia concluded today at the Razer HQ in Singapore, with its rousing final match seeing Singaporean contestant Eng Ghim Kee ‘Gackt’ destroy China’s Qanba.DaKou 7-2.
The win saw him finish top of the charts for the round robin tournament. Together with second place winner, Razer’s very own Fuudo, Gackt will go on to Burlingame in California to compete in the global Capcom Cup competition. Evolution Champion Series (EVO) 2k12 winner, Infiltration, placed third. For those wondering about EVO 2k13 champ DM MCZ Xian, our poster boy has already qualified.
The Street Fighter competition was graced with Yoshinori Ono, producer of Street Fighter IV, and Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan. Both of them were on hand to give away prizes to the winners. Capcom Asia also sent several representatives to the tournament.
After the prize-giving ceremony, Ono-san teased an announcement for Ultra Street Fighter IV, saying that more information on it will be revealed the following week. Street Fighter fans, stay tuned!
