Funding round-up from India: Pepperfry, Delight Foods, Locus, ManageMySpa

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.
Here’s today’s funding round-up:
Locus
Bangalore-based Locus has closed an angel funding round led by Delhi-based growX Ventures and angel investor Manish Singhal. Sanjay Mehta, Ankit Pruthi (founder of Unicommerce), and Bhupen Shah (co-founder of Sling Media) are the other angel investors who participated in this round. Locus is a logistics management startup founded by Nishith Rastogi and Geet Garg.
Pepperfry
Online furniture retailer Pepperfry has raised US$100 million from Goldman Sachs and Zodius Technology Fund. Its existing investors – Bertelsmann India Investments and Norwest Venture Partners – have also participated in this round. The company has raised about US$28 million in its previous three rounds. Mumbai-based Pepperfry was founded in 2012 by Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah.
Delight Foods
Bangalore-based Delight Foods has raised US$150,000 in a pre-launch funding round from MAPE Advisory Group and Fireside Ventures. Delight Food is an Indian food portal that allows users to order cuisines from famous food brands from across the country. Ramesh Krishnamurthy is the founder of this startup.
ManageMySpa
Mumbai-based ManageMySpa has raised US$6 million in a series A funding round from Accel Partners. The company offers SaaS-based technology solutions for the beauty and wellness industry. It was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Sudheer Koneru.
Townrush
Bangalore-based on-demand hyperlocal logistics delivery company Townrush has raised seed funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners. It connects merchants and customers to local logistic service providers, who pick up and deliver products anywhere within the city. It was founded in May 2015 by Saurya Prakash, Ashutosh Banerjee, and Tushar Bisht.
