Most people tend to give up on keeping at the forefront of technology at a certain point in their lives. Not 81-year-old Masako Wakamiya. After learning to use Apple’s Swift programming language from a “young person” via Skype and Facebook Messenger, Wakamiya created an iOS game based on traditional Japanese doll displays. She also teaches people how to make art with Excel, vlogs about her travels, and runs a club for fellow retirees.

Talk about active aging.
