Founded in 2015, Infofed provides a one-stop solution for game providers, consumer brands, and esports communities through its online and offline platforms.
It operates eArena, an online platform for professional gamers to generate and manage content and organize competitive gaming matches. The company also hosts events and tournaments through its offline platform, the US$1.5 million Thailand eSports Arena.
The startup plans to use the new funds to expand its presence in Southeast Asia. It is set to enter Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia in 2020.
Infofed also aims to become the region’s esports industry leader by 2025. The company claims to have been investing over US$1.6 million into its Infofed Ecosystem, which includes eSports Arena, its esport production and event segment, and its esport streamers and influencers development business.
“Following this round, we expect to roll out several esports collaborations that will enhance our position as an industry leader, as well as create 10,000 industry-related jobs for the digital-savvy generation in this region by 2025,” said Jirayod Theppipit, founder and CEO of Infofed.
Earlier this year, the company received an undisclosed amount of investment from Singapore VC fund KK Fund and Thai events marketing firm EventPop Shows to bolster its esports business and be a regional esports organizer. It closed its seed funding round in 2018.
