Wavemaker-backed Structo secures funding from EDBI, Pavilion, others

Structo, a Singapore-based 3D printing solutions provider focused on the dental industry, has raised an undisclosed amount in its latest funding round from EDBI, GGV Capital, Wavemaker Partners, and Pavilion Capital.

Structo, which started as a project out of the National University of Singapore in 2014, has a presence in the US, Canada, and the UK.

It claims to have installed printers across five continents, producing hundreds of thousands of dental appliances per month. It also has numerous partnerships within the dental industry, helping them develop application-specific solutions across hardware, software, and photopolymer resin.

With the funding, Structo looks to further expand the capacity of its digital additive manufacturing solutions and launch new products focused on automation to enable mass production of custom and patient-specific products.

“EDBI’s support has allowed our team to develop capabilities in Singapore in engineering, product development, material sciences, and manufacturing. By leveraging EBDI’s strategic industry partners, investor community, and network of talent, we were able to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing,” said Structo co-founder and CEO Huub van Esbroeck.

EDBI is the investment arm of the Singapore government’s Economic Development Board. During the year, it has participated in investment rounds for companies such as healthtech startup Biofourmis, voice security firm Pindrop, beauty products marketplace Sociolla, and rewards app ShopBack.

It also led the most recent funding round of mobile network operator Circles.Life earlier this year, allowing the data-focused telco to grow its engineering team in Singapore by 50% and enter new markets with the new funds.
