“Eye to Eye”: The Viral Music Video That Pakistan’s Internet Can’t Stop Laughing At

It looks like Pakistan may have found its own Rebecca Black. Or the Numa Numa guy. Or this guy. You know what, this really is better without an introduction. Just watch this, and then we’ll talk:

OK, so that was the music video for “Eye to Eye,” which was produced, written, performed, and directed by Taher Shah. According to Propakistani, three days ago no one had ever heard of Taher Shah, but now he’s one of the most talked-about people in Pakistan. His video has attracted thousands of views on tune.pk and nearly 200,000 on Youtube already.

Needless to say, most of the enthusiasm for Shah’s video is ironic, and like its viral video predecessors, “Eye to Eye” is spawning all sorts of mocking memes making fun of everything from the awkward video to the other-the-top lyrics.
