Komet Games was founded by former Shopee executive Joe Li in September 2022 with the vision of making games more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The startup has seven games ranging from puzzles to battles. Komet Games said that since its soft launch in May 2023, it has attracted over 100,000 gamers with an average daily playtime of 40 minutes per user.

Komet Games also uses AI not only to create games suitable for all ages, but also to improve gaming experiences. It has an “AI coach” that teaches players about game mechanics, gives hints when they are stuck, and acts as an opponent to train users.

The company is focusing on Southeast Asia, where the population of over 600 million young people and the growing penetration of smartphone usage present a unique market potential. It is also looking to gain further traction in other emerging markets such as Latin America and the Middle East.
