Ex-Grab, Alibaba exec joins SG insurtech firm Igloo
Singapore-based insurtech firm Igloo has appointed Wilson Tseng as its new chief business officer. The move comes after it raised US$19 million in a series B round led by Cathay Innovation, with ACA and Openspace participating.

Tseng previously served as a senior regional commercial manager at Grab and a partnerships manager for Europe at Alibaba Group. He has 15 years of professional experience across the startup, financial services, and ecommerce spaces.
Reporting to newly-appointed co-founder and CEO Raunak Mehta, Tseng will drive Igloo’s commercial strategy across Southeast Asia. He will also take charge of expanding partnerships with business and insurer partners, as well as identifying and developing new growth opportunities and revenue streams.
“Igloo wants to capitalize on the underinsured SEA market by closely working with key partners by using technology to bring the benefits of insurance protection in the most accessible, relevant and easy to adopt way to our consumers,” said Tseng.
The insurtech firm said it has 30 partnerships in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It added that it has helped underwrite over 75 million policies in Southeast Asia.
