East Ventures backs Indonesian construction tech firm’s pre-seed raise

Amoda, an Indonesia-based prefabricated construction tech startup, has raised an undisclosed sum of pre-seed funding from East Ventures.

Robin Yovianto and Agusti Salman Farizi started Amoda last year to digitalize the construction process through its online platform for prefabricated offerings. The decision to start the company came after the pair saw limitations in the traditional construction market, such as a shortage in skilled labor and a lack of transparency and reliability.

The company allows customers to choose and customize their buildings online and provides prefabricated materials that can help reduce construction time and costs. It caters to both individuals and businesses in Indonesia.

Amoda said that since the start of 2022, it has tripled its revenue compared to the previous year. However, the company did not provide specific amounts.

The startup will use the new funds to expand its manufacturing facilities, hire more talent, and ramp up its R&D. Amoda also plans to develop new products for different needs and improve its tech to enhance the end-to-end experience for users.

“The fund from East Ventures will accelerate our mission of bringing more social and economic impacts to Indonesia,” said Yovianto, who also serves as Amoda’s CEO.
