East Ventures leads $10m seed funding for ex-Kudo CEO’s firm
TipTip, an Indonesia-based platform for content creators, has raised US$10 million in a seed round led by East Ventures, with participation from Vertex Ventures, Emtek Group, and SMDV.
The company said it is one of the biggest seed rounds in Indonesia. The deal was made prior to the platform’s launch next month.

TipTip enables content creators to earn revenue from creating personalized video sessions, selling digital content, and interacting with their followers. It provides on-platform tipping features, including integration with payment providers.
The startup is founded by Albert Lucius, who was also the former CEO of online-to-offline platform Kudo, which was acquired by Grab in 2017. TipTip currently operates in Indonesia and Singapore with more than 70 employees.
With the fresh funding, the startup plans to hire more employees, accelerate platform adoption, and continue its product development. It aims to roll out its platform exclusively to invited users in April, followed by a public launch in Indonesia shortly after.
