Ex-Google, Line exec appointed on the board of Thai fashion startup Pomelo

Thailand-based omnichannel fashion platform Pomelo Fashion has appointed Ariya Banomyong to serve on its board.

Experience:

• The tech veteran has 20 years of experience under his belt, previously serving as the president of content at entertainment platform BEC World.
• Banomyong also served as managing director of Line Thailand and country head of Google Thailand.

• At Pomelo, Banomyong will oversee the company’s business strategy and help drive it into its next phase of growth.
• According to Pomelo CEO David Jou, the company has signed over 200 brands into its multilabel platform in less than a year. The company hopes to bump that number up to 1,000 this year, he added.
• Pomelo claims to have grown its retail business by 30% over the past year and opened two new locations in Singapore and two more in Indonesia. It now has a total of 26 stores across Southeast Asia.
• The startup is set to launch its first physical store in Malaysia and two additional stores – one each in Chiang Mai and Rayong, Thailand.
