HealthXCapital (HXC), an early-stage venture fund based in Singapore, has merged with Jungle Ventures. The deal will enhance Jungle Ventures’ capacity to invest in the healthcare sector and and give it access to HXC’s network and resources.
With the move, HXC managing partner Seemant Jauhari becomes a Jungle Ventures partner for the healthcare vertical. He will lead all the firm’s healthcare investments across India and Southeast Asia.
HXC targets healthcare startups operating in Southeast Asia and India. The company has strategic partnerships with hospitals, financial institutions, impact funds, and government-backed institutions.
The fund has invested in 10 healthcare startups across various segments including caregiving provider Homage, affordable surgery platform Medfin, and data intelligence company THB.
Southeast Asia’s healthtech industry is still in the early stages, with roughly 77% of all startups founded in or after 2015, according to data from Tech in Asia. That said, Mirxes, a Singapore-based advanced diagnostics firm, recently applied for an IPO in Hong Kong.
Jungle Ventures invests in early- to growth-stage companies in sectors such as ecommerce, fintech, enterprise software, and consumer internet. Its portfolio includes companies like Kredivo, Livspace, Pomelo, and Sociolla.
