Starting April 22, users in the city-state will be able to place orders from a selection of dishes made with Eat Just’s lab-grown protein alternative, Good Meat, through the Foodpanda app. The collaboration marks the first time cultured meat will be made available for home delivery, according to a statement.
Orders for Good Meat products will be prepared by Singapore private club 1880, the first establishment chosen by Eat Just to serve cultured meat to customers. Starting in mid-May, Good Meat selections from JW Marriott Singapore South Beach will also be available on the platform.
Eat Just and Foodpanda plan to announce more collaborations with restaurants in Singapore within the coming months, according to a statement.
The announcement comes after Singapore became the first country to approve cultured meat for sale. Following the development, Eat Just announced it was the first to win regulatory approval of its meat alternative, which paved the way for the commercial launch of Good Meat in the country.
Prior to the launch of its lab-grown protein alternative, Eat Just last year announced that it partnered with a consortium led by Proterra Investment Partners Asia to develop a plant-based protein production facility in Singapore.
