Dota 2 Workshop: Spring 2014 event favorites

A month ago, Valve invited artists to sumbit works for the Year of the Horse event. With the deadline for submissions at January 20, here are some of the more impressive entries from the Dota 2 Workshop. Click on the image to head to the item’s respective Dota 2 Workshop page.

1. Guardian of the Eternal Seasons by Kunkka

Hero: Nature’s Prophet
Slots: Ability3 (Nature’s Call), Arms, Back, Head, Neck, Shoulder, Weapon

Most people are familiar with the name ‘Kunkka’ because of a Dota 2 hero of the same name, but most fans especially from the Warcraft 3 (WC3) DotA days would recognize Kunkka as the artist behind the game’s impressive loading screens.

I’m not someone who likes something just because it’s pink, but those cherry blossom treants are just adorable. Not only that that, but according to Kunkka on his Facebook page, one reason why the set is called the Guardian of the Eternal Seasons is because it has four different styles —winter, spring, summer, and autumn, which you can change whenever you want.

2. Ember Crane by Konras

Hero: Lina
Slots: Arms, Belt, Head, Neck

I’m a fan of the Maiden sisters, Lina and Crystal, so I was quite pleased that someone made a set for Lina. Chinese New Year is also recognized by a lot of red and gold, which is pretty much Lina’s motif so I can’t say I didn’t see this coming. Although the full bangs didn’t seem to be Lina-ish for me, I like her hair ornament, her earrings and her detailed dress.
