Polygon makes it into Disney’s Web3 accelerator program
Polygon, an India-based blockchain firm, is one among six firms chosen to be part of the Disney Accelerator program, which is focused on Web3 business development.

Polygon enables the Ethereum blockchain to handle many more transactions than the latter was originally designed to.
Disney invited applications from venture-backed, growth-stage startups exploring improvements in tech and entertainment. Accepted firms are involved in augmented reality, non-fungible tokens, and AI. Disney’s program will give them investment capital and assist in networking.
Participants will also get the chance to interact with the US-based media giant’s executives and have a dedicated executive mentor. The startups can also access the entertainment firm’s co-working space in California.
Disney Accelerator has 54 companies in its portfolio, including Sphero, Byju’s, Emotiv, and Kahoot.
Here are the particpants for the latest cohort:
- Polygon: a scalable blockchain network for building experiences on Web3
- Flickplay: a Web3 social app for real world-connected NFTs offering augmented reality experiences
- Inworld: allows creation of interactive, AI-driven characters .
- Lockerverse: a Web3 platform for storytelling
- Obsess: an experiential e-commerce platform that allows an immersive 3D shopping experience
- Red 6: an AR company with patented headset and interface that works outdoors
