Disney forms business unit for AI, mixed reality
Walt Disney Company is forming a new unit to integrate emerging technologies like AI and mixed reality into its film, television, and theme park activities.
The unit, named the Office of Technology Enablement, will be led by Jamie Voris.
Voris, who is the current chief technology officer (CTO) for the film studio, will have his role taken over by Eddie Drake.
The new office will ensure that technology projects are consistent with Disney’s strategic goals, though it will not centralize them.
The Office of Technology Enablement is expected to grow to around 100 employees, according to someone aware of the plans.
