Artificial Intelligence(AI) has triggered a series of revolutions in every industry. Leading companies around the world do their best to innovate and introduce AI technology that seeks to solve limitations that the industries are facing.

To lead the discussions on AI technology in this Tech in Asia city chapters meetup, we are proud to have our chapter leads and partners in Taipei, PurpleCow Startup Association as organizers along with CloudMile. The event will look to providing solutions for the pain points in Taiwan’s technology ecosystem through expert sharings and social gatherings.

Event Overview

Understand and learn the latest AI trends and industry insights through two keynotes and a panel discussion. The first keynote will be delivered by a Google ML specialist, sharing the latest AI developments on 2018 Google I/O; the second keynote will be delivered by CloudMile’s Technical Director, introducing case studies of AI applications on Google’s cloud platform.

Lastly, a panel will be conducted by 3 experts from different industries to discuss the thresholds of introducing AI technology into different industries as well as the latest insights.

Speakers & Panelists:

Blue Chen – CEO of RelaJet. Blue is currently the CEO of RelaJet, hoping to solve the problems of the hearing-impaired through technology. The company aims to help them communicate, interact and participate fully in life, and also creates its own blockchain for personal health data.

Daniel Sparing – Machine Learning Specialist at Google Cloud. Daniel has more than 10 years of research and global consulting experience in artificial intelligence and mathematical optimization, across a wide range of industries including finance, telecom, transportation and logistics.

Jonathan Wong – Technical Director of Machine Learning at CloudMile. Jonathan was working as an Engineering Director at Barco Technology, specializing in data analysis, machine learning algorithm, recommendation systems and app development.

Spencer Liu – Founder and CEO of CloudMile, also part of the founding team of eCloudValley, AWS’ largest partner in Asia, and founded an e-commerce platform YamMarket. He was also the one of the first 15 premier Google Partners for the Google Cloud Platform(GCP).

Winston Hsu – NTU CSIE Professor and NVIDIA AI Lab Director. Winston is currently the professor in the NTU SCIE department, NVIDIA AI Lab Director, as well as the co-founder of Thingnario. Graduated from Columbia EE Ph.D, specializing in machine learning, big scale visual search and discrimination, and pioneer technology business models. He was also one of the co-founders of Cyberlink, visiting research fellow at IBM Watson Research Center and Microsoft in the US.
