This International Women’s Day, we’re flipping the script on the classic storyline of a princess in distress.

We’ve all grown up hearing the typical fairy tales – Rapunzel waiting for someone to free her from the tower, Sleeping Beauty needing true love’s kiss to wake up, Cinderella being whisked away from a life of misery by Prince Charming. But we also know that those narratives are old and tired. Modern reality is, after all, quite different.

It’s time to discover a different kind of princess, the one who embodies strength, resilience, and the power to shape her own destiny.

In Tech in Asia’s International Women’s Day personality quiz, Hello Princess, you’ll take center stage as a princess stuck in a tower. You’re tired of this schtick, and you decide to take matters into your own hands to plan your great escape. How you do it and the decisions you make will reveal a little more about your personality, what makes you tick, and the kind of princess you are.

(P.S: This quiz is open to all, no matter what gender you were assigned at birth!)

Why a quiz?

Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg once said that “the most important relationship in your life is with yourself, because no matter what happens you will always be yourself.”

While this quiz is not meant to be taken as gospel truth, we believe there is value in knowing who you are on a deeper level. And so, we created a way for our readers to do just that and learn what may have shaped their experiences in the tech world.

This year’s International Women’s Day is centered around the theme “Accelerate Action.” This can be outward action – campaigning for better policies, uplifting a woman in your team, speaking out on inequality – or inward action like reflecting on ourselves, our potential, and how we can play a part in building a better world.

Through this quiz, we hope that you’ll get in touch with your inner princess. And if nothing else, we hope you have fun.
