The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the AI Verify Foundation have launched the Gen AI Evaluation Sandbox, a new initiative to support the development and adoption of “trusted” generative AI products.

The Gen AI Evaluation Sandbox aims to bring together global ecosystem players to address the risks and challenges that the tech can bring, including algorithmic bias, misinformation, and the generation of harmful content.

Some of the companies joining the initiative are Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Singtel, and Resaro.ai.

The sandbox will use a new evaluation catalog – a shared resource that provides common methods and recommendations for evaluating large language models. It will serve as a reference for testing genAI products.

Regulators like the Personal Data Protection Commission will also provide a space for experimentation and development.

IMDA and the AI Verify Foundation expect the sandbox to help develop new benchmarks and tests for AI use in specific sectors that currently lack them, such as human resources and security.
