Tan Wei Zhuang initially tackled complex visual scenarios using low-tech cameras during research with Singapore’s Housing and Development Board.

He realized heavy industries faced operational challenges that his research could resolve. He spun off the technology to launch Ailytics.

😟 Problem

Current methods of monitoring industrial operations rely on manual data entry and conflict resolution. This makes safety and productivity tracking highly prone to human error.

These operational risks cost the global industry US$2.8 trillion in losses yearly. They also contribute to a fatal workplace accident every 10 minutes.

💡 Solution

Ailytics connects its software to existing camera infrastructure to monitor worksites. The system uses vision-language models, AI capable of processing visual and textual data, to reason about events.

Users receive real-time alerts regarding safety breaches or productivity drops. The platform provides several core capabilities:

  • Transforms 2D scenes into 3D environments from a single camera without additional sensors.
  • Processes footage from low-resolution or shaky feeds in poor weather conditions.
  • Enables users to search and review complex events using natural language.

📊 Market size

Demand for industrial video analytics is growing due to labor shortages and rising insurance costs. Tighter environmental and safety regulations also force heavy industries to adopt modern monitoring technology.

The company calculates its addressable market from the bottom up based on active sites and camera density. It estimates the market opportunity at US$273 billion for manufacturing, US$186 billion for construction, and US$340 million for the oil, gas, and maritime sector.
