Cricket icon Stephen Fleming’s CricHQ scores $10M from Tembusu Partners

CricHQ, a digital platform for the world’s second-most popular game, today announced it raised US$10 million from Singaporean private equity firm Tembusu Partners. The money will be used to scale the venture globally, upgrade technology, and add new features. Of particular importance is the Indian market, where the startup wants to expand its sales, marketing, and business development teams.
CricHQ wants to use its digital platform to help all stakeholders in the sport – administrators, coaches, players, and fans alike. The startup works closely with cricketing associations throughout the world to reduce paper-intensive methods of collecting data, providing real-time live scores online, and detailed analytics to help with coaching and administration of the sport.
Interestingly, the startup has support from two high-profile names in the cricketing world. Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming is a co-founder and director, while current captain Brendon McCullum is a shareholder. It aims to differentiate itself from rival site ESPN Cricinfo by offering users more access to data and content spread over both professional and amateur leagues.
“It [CricHQ] clicked with us both as a business and a means of giving back to the game that had given us so much,” said Fleming and McCullum in an emailed statement.
